I’ve wanted to photograph this waterfall in South Korea for a long time, but the timing is always tricky. This year I finally planned the trip around it and got there first thing in the morning, cold and wet, hoping for a bit of sunlight. It never came and it even started raining, but the colors still showed up in their own way. It’s a hard place to time, different every year, but I’m glad I finally saw it. I’ll be back 🍁💧

I didn’t expect to see winter creeping in so early here. From above the lake, autumn was still holding on in the trees while a light layer of snow quietly changed the mood. Knowing this crater lake was formed by a volcanic eruption around 110,000 years ago made the view feel even more powerful. Cold air, deep blue water, and that sense of time stretching far beyond this moment 🍂❄️

I ended up at this bridge in Ibaraki almost by accident and the view honestly surprised me. The blue tower with the dragon, the length of the span and all those autumn colors behind it made the whole place feel unreal. People even jump off this thing for bungee and I can see why the view is addictive. I didn’t jump but just standing there was enough for me 🍁😅

Tried getting this shot twice. The first time I came in from the far entrance, totally clueless, and by the time I reached this spot it was already packed. Lesson learned. I came back, used the closer gate, and basically sprinted in. Had only a few seconds of calm before the crowd flooded in, but it was just enough to catch this golden tunnel the way I’d hoped 🍂📸
