About me
Hello and welcome! My name is Samuel, I’m from Switzerland, and Asia has been my home for almost 20 years now. Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to live and work in several countries — Switzerland, China, Taiwan, Singapore, South Korea, Japan, and Australia — and to visit nearly 50 countries in total. Travel has always been a deep passion of mine, both professionally and personally.
My path to Japan
My passion for Asia didn’t start yesterday — but everything truly began when I was finishing my engineering studies at EPFL in Lausanne. I had the opportunity to do my master’s thesis in China — a defining experience that turned out to be a real turning point. That’s where I had the spark, that deep fascination with Asian cultures, their languages, their landscapes, and their contrasts.
Since that day, I’ve never left Asia. I’ve lived in several countries across the region — and each one has given me a unique perspective. Whether in Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, or Australia, I’ve always carried this drive to go further, to discover, to understand.
Today, I’ve settled in Japan — a country I find endlessly fascinating, complex, and beautiful. I’ve had the chance to visit every prefecture, and I truly enjoy sharing my discoveries — especially lesser-known places, far from the typical tourist paths.
Alongside this, I’m also an amateur photographer — another way for me to capture and share the beauty of Japan. If you’d like to see my photos, you can check them out on my dedicated photo site by clicking here.

After so many years exploring Asia — and especially Japan — I’ve developed true expertise in the art of travelling differently. I’ve always been drawn to the hidden paths, the quiet backstreets, the conversations with locals, and the flavours you won’t find in any guidebook. Today, it’s exactly that passion I want to share with you.
If you’re dreaming of a trip to Japan that truly reflects you — far from the usual circuits but full of authentic discoveries — I’m here to help. Thanks to my experience and in-depth knowledge of the country, I’ll help you craft a fully customised itinerary: smooth, balanced, and above all unforgettable. Whether you’re curious about ancient traditions, local cuisine, or breathtaking nature, I’ll make sure your adventure in Japan is far more than just a holiday.
